“Mathieu first learned to play the guitar with the gypsies from Alsace. In 1998, he joined the band Jazzy Strings in Belgium and benefited from the advice of the great guitarist Walter Gonella. After travelling through different countries like USA, Belgium, Spain, and Ireland — where he enriched his musical knowledge — he settled in Paris. Over the years, he has played with legends on the gypsy jazz scene: Bireli Lagrene, Angelo Debarre, Romane, Tchavolo and Dorado Schmitt.
