Lineup:
Tommy Davy - guitar
Jimmy Grant - guitar
Jonathon Stoyanoff - bass

Guitar Soloist Tommy Davy began his guitar studies at the age of 12 in Laguna Beach, California. By the age of 15 he was completely devoted to the contemporary Gypsy Jazz style and worked relentlessly to acquire the technical facility and artistry necessary to take the stage with the greatest Masters of the genre: Angelo Debarre, Florin Niculescu, Serge Camps, Andreas Oberg, Robin Nolan and Stephane Wrembel, to name a few.

In 2006 Davy toured the West Coast with headliner David Grisman and Amoeba Music’s Gypsy Caravan Tour as guitarist for the Django Reinhardt tribute band The Gypsy Kids.

Since then he has expanded his repertoire to include Romanian, Hungarian Yugoslavian and Russian traditional folk music. Tommy attended California Institute of the Arts’ music program and studied guitar with Larry Koonse and Miroslav Tadic.

In California, Davy and his ensemble have been featured at Djangofest LA, Djangofest San Francisco, The Jonathan Club, Hotel Roosevelt, Bimbo’s 365, California Club, House of Blues on Sunset Strip, The Music Box and in the bay area, NY Birdland’s Django Reinhardt Festival Tour.

Tommy’s grooving guitar can be heard on chanteuse Jessica Fichot’s CD Le Chemin.

Whether it’s French waltzes, poignant interpretations of gypsy melodies or the swinging standards of the Hot Club of France, Tommy demonstrates mastery beyond his years. At just 23 years of age he is making a name for himself in the international Gypsy jazz community. His devotion to his music has taken him to far away destinations such as Osaka, Oslo and Paris.

Recently Tommy opened for Grammy Award winner Rickie Lee Jones at Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles and appeared as a guest artist with the Platinum- winning Canadian Django Band The Lost Fingers. Tommy resides in Los Angeles and currently performs with his Jazz Manouche ensemble, The Tommy Davy Trio.
