Shelley
began building guitars in 1991. Her instruments embody the classic sound
and design of the Selmer Maccaferri guitars built in France from 1932
to 1953, but they also reflect her personal aesthetic and contemporary
approach to lutherie.
Park was a former
lutherie student of Michael Dunn and rhythm guitarist
with Michael's Hot Club of Mars. She has also
been rhythm guitarist with Pearl Django, the
Washington based Hot Club style group. Shelley D. Park Guitars are the
Selmer styled guitars used in Pearl Django and are a large part of the
groups unique, original sound.
