Dear DjangoFest Fans and Patrons,
Swing music in the style of Django Reinhardt is going stronger than ever around the world. Many younger and older musicians and listeners are being attracted to this style due to its infectious melodies and energetic rhythms. The DjangoFest series of music festivals has proven to be the premier showcase of ‘gypsy jazz’ in North America. DjangoFest Mill Valley, now in its fifth year, has presented some of the biggest names in the genre to thousands of happy fans throughout the Bay Area. Encouraged by last year’s success Djangofest Mill Valley is continuing with its membership program. In so doing, we can continue to bring the same high quality of talent as we have in the past and further expand the visibility of this unique event. To kick off our DjangoFest Membership drive we would like to invite you to a benefit fundraising concert featuring a special performance of The Gonzalo Bergara Quartet, Panique, Bo Django and other special guests. This event takes place, Sunday, April 19th at the 142 Throckmorton Theatre in Mill Valley. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the concert is at 7:00 pm. Admission is $30.00 to the general public but free to DFMV members, who will be listed in the program and website and receive preferential seating considerations, autographed posters, cds, etc. Businesses will also still have the opportunity to be a sponsor. All donations are tax-deductible. Memberships begin at just $50.00. It’s a great way to ensure that this great event continues on in this magical setting and phenomenal venue.
