Hot Club Sandwich captures the spirit of the Hot Jazz string bands of the early 20th century. Blending the unique sonority of 3 guitars, bass, violin, and mandolin, the acoustic sextet maintains a reverence for the "Gypsy Jazz" of Django Reinhardt and Stephanne Grapelli's Quintette du Hot Club de France. HCS draws on a repertoire that ranges broadly from American big band standards, European jazz, Brazilian choros, musettes, boleros, danzones, traditional Gypsy folk tunes and performs them all with an energy and drive that brings a smile to the face of young and old alike.

Hot Club Sandwich has established itself as one of the most vibrant emerging acoustic bands on the West Coast. The ensemble performs from San Francisco to Seattle, New York to Fargo, at clubs and colleges, festivals and farmer's markets, theaters and ballrooms, subways and street corners.

The March 2003 release of HCS's second recording "Digga Digga Do" brings much of the group's recent history and broad influences to record. Digga Digga Do both pays homage to past masters of string swing and highlights several original compositions that are firmly rooted in the acoustic old-world tradition. The project features the production skills of Seattle legend Orville Johnson and the impeccable engineering of David Lange, who also plays accordion on the recording.

"Hot Club Sandwich is rapidly earning acclaim for their adventerous, improvisational spirit."
-The Port Townsend Leader
