 The
Hot Club of San Francisco is an all-string quintet playing music from
1930's France in a genre entitled Gypsy-Swing. With an instrumentation
borrowed from The Hot Club de France- a group led by Django Reinhardt
and Stephane Grappelli, the HCSF features all acoustic chamber-jazz,
perfect for dancing, dining, romancing and even listening! Their appearances
at concerts, parties and festivals in America as well as abroad have
established this Bay-Area jewel as a very important link not only to
the past, but to the gypsy culture as well as the French quality of
Joie de Vivre. Six CDs in 10 + years, the Hot Club of San Francisco
has something for everyone. As director Paul 'Pazzo' Mehling explains,
