Alain Cola and John Kinnard have been planning to introduce the 'Pigalle' model for quite some time now. Well, all I can say is that the wait has been worth it!
The Dell'Arte Pigalle pictured above is priced to compete with the 'off-shore' made Selmer copies but with more sonic finesse and attention to detail. The woodworking is crisp, the materials top notch and the finish work is flawless!
How does it sound? This instrument produces that authentic Django tone that has been revered by aficionados of this genre. This instrument has great projection and an extremely wide dynamic range!
The original issue Selmer guitars were manufactured in relatively small numbers between 1932 and 1952 and sell for quite a substantial sum if ever offered on the open market. High quality reproductions such as the instruments made by Dell'Arte are a very attractive alternative to the originals which are often in extremely poor condition.
